Search an original title, a name or several attributes, such as Hindi comedy 2015.
These requirements must be met. A language or country selected above is a preference instead.
A work may have several original languages. The source does not always identify a main language.

HOW FAVOBIT WORKS
Favobit connects what you already enjoy with films and series that share relevant attributes.
Directors: 5 · Actors: 4 · Series creators: 5 · Genres: 3 · Language: 1,5 · Countries: 1
Recurring people across favourite films and series strengthen connections. Manually selected people carry more weight than automatic connections.
Each group has a score cap. Directors and series creators share one cap. An episode director does not automatically become a personal preference. Missing information is unknown.
The match score runs from 0 to 100 and adds up the connections to your current profile. It is not a percentage probability that you will enjoy the film. A title with missing data may score lower; missing data is never a negative judgement of a title. Scores cannot be compared across different profiles.
“Not for me” hides the title and gently lowers the weight of attributes it shares with other titles. A directly selected person or attribute is not downweighted because it also appears in a title you marked as “Not for me”. Other negative connections can still affect a recommendation. “Seen already” only hides a title and says nothing about whether you liked it. Favourites are not shown among new recommendations.
Highest score first. Variety applies only to equal scores. Variety spreads recommendations across more directors and creators. For co-directed films or series with several creators, we consider all the names. Match scores stay the same, but the order may change. Language, country, genre and year filters are strict requirements and may return fewer matches.

Structured core metadata comes from Wikidata (CC0). Registered title variants and registry links also come from the CNC film registry (updated 13 November 2025, Licence Ouverte 2.0) and the KAVI television registry (CC BY 4.0), an older, incomplete export. We have selected, normalised and linked records using registry IDs or verified combinations of original title, year and named directors or actors. Japanese title variants also come from National Film Archive of Japan via Japan Search (CC0 for metadata). Archive records describe preserved prints; their running times and sound formats are not used as original work properties. Established main direction is not automatically expanded with other archive direction roles. Series metadata is also supplemented by TVmaze. Database rights in the combined catalogue and adapted metadata are shared under CC BY-SA 4.0; the sources retain their original terms. Site code, accounts, profiles and our own images are not covered by the data licence. Registry data, sources and licences.
An Indian film and series selection is supplemented with Indian Panorama 2024, Indian Panorama 2025 and National Film Awards, published by the Press Information Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. The data is reused under PIB’s reproduction policy. Selection and award years are not the same as release years. The catalogue is also supplemented with structured Wikidata records from many countries and original languages; complete national catalogues are not reproduced.
German film metadata is also sourced from filmportal/DFF via Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek (CC0 metadata). Exact work identifiers link explicitly recorded film-work direction and documentary categories to existing films. Photo, trailer and archive-print properties are not used as the original film’s language, running time or release date.
Information may be missing or incorrect. Language means the recorded original languages, including multilingual works. A main language is not always identified. For TVmaze additions, we use the recorded primary spoken language; it is not a complete list of all languages in the series. Available dubbing or subtitles are not listed. Country means production, not where the film can be watched.

Presets change only weights, filters and variety. Favourites and lists are kept.
The overview describes documented favourites and missing information, not personality or certain future tastes.
Saved profiles and presets can be used and edited after expiry. Active Plus is needed for new profiles, new presets and a current profile overview.
Your language choice is saved in browser storage and a functional cookie so Favobit can retain the language at the website lock too.
Favobit saves your favourites, choices, weights, seen titles and list in this device’s browser storage. When you are signed in, your choices can be saved to your Favobit account and loaded on your other devices. Search queries and the taste choices needed for recommendations are sent over an encrypted connection to Favobit’s own server for calculation. Without an account, no profile is stored permanently on the server. Search queries and taste choices are not written to web addresses or application logs and are not sent to external catalogue providers. Your account and choices are used for Favobit’s features. Lundberg Selection AB is the data controller. We store your email address, acceptance of terms, session information and account status to provide and protect your account. Sign-in codes are stored as hashes and messages awaiting delivery are stored encrypted.
You can remove these details with “Clear my choices”. This also removes your list and your seen-title markings. When you are signed in, the empty selection is saved to your account if the service connection is working. If browser storage is blocked, you can continue using the page, but your choices disappear when you leave it.
